Ally Mitchell is haunted by a past filled with the memories from one horrific night when her family was destroyed forever leaving her broken, shattered, and alone.

Ian Rhodes is running from a broken heart derived from a tragic loss that he doesn't know how to move past. Having no idea how to cope, he buys a small mountain home, determined to isolate himself from everyone he's ever loved.

When Ally finds herself in need of help for the first time since moving to her secluded mountain home, she has no choice but to turn to her new neighbor, Ian. Together, Ally and Ian are forced to face their own fears in order to get them through the next few weeks while Ally heals, but what they never planned on was the deep feelings they would develop for each other.

Are their new found feelings enough to bring them back from the pain of their pasts? Bring Me Back is a story of two very broken people who struggle through tragedy to learn to depend on each other, trust, and love again.

Bring Me Back (Audible Audio Edition) Taryn Plendl Beth Stewart Taryn Plendl Books Books

I enjoyed this book but I will warn so you go in with your eyes open. The entire book is written in first person and switches back and forth between the characters chapter to chapter. I dislike this type of format but after getting into the book I adapted. This is not one of those upbeat feel good stories you jump in head first from the first paragraph and it spirals downward from there. For those of you that are more picky than me i'll mention that there were some typos both with grammer and format but I was able to overlook this since the story kept me engaged. I personally don't like reading books that make me think, "WOW...this all really could have actually happened" needless to mention I didn't sleep till 3am thinking over what I had just read. I think that speaks volumes for the authors writing ability there were times I actually felt I was there experiencing the things the h was feeling and broke out my tissues on more than one occasion. Personally I would have written the characters a bit older than their early 20's since these were heavy issues for such young adults but thats just me. Overall I recommend it and loved the ending (predictable) it's one of those books you will only read once. I was glad to have downloaded it for free but I wouldn't have been disapointed had I paid for it. Enjoy and Happy Reading.

Bring Me Back (Audible Audio Edition) Taryn Plendl Beth Stewart Taryn Plendl Books Books Reviews

From the first sentence, this is a very touching portrayal of the mental agony and suffering of two young adults. Ally who is unable to come to terms with the cruel loss of her parents and Ian who is suffering from the loss of his girl friend to cancer, both suffering from nightmares and secreting themselves from humanity get thrown together by circumstances. It is the story of reconstruction of their lives and love and coming back to terms, putting back the past behind and taking baby steps towards trust and happiness.
May be it is nothing new in the theme as such, but it is the way the it is presented and the expressions used. Taryn Plendl has used her talent as a story teller and the story is told by Ally and Ian from their perspective, but how it is blended together is the expertise of the artful writer.
At the happy ending, the reader feels happy for Ally and Ian and the sense of contentment that flows in the reader's heart is the gift by Taryn Plendl. A most satisfying book.
A beautiful book. So we experience life and life hurts us and we find we cannot trust any longer. Then God sends us his love in the person of an Ian or an Ally. It is refreshing to find a movie or a book where the main characters do not fall wrecklessly into bed in the first few pages of the book or scenes in the movie. It is so trully unfortunate when our youth are led to believe this is love. When true love is consumated in the uniting of two souls through a physical union, in time, words can not describe the bliss that ensues. When the union occurs prematurely, confusion and tragedy can follow. Both are subject to falling for the same kind of attraction for others outside their marital bonds once the heat grows cooler. This book is not wrought with raunchy sex, although the fact that Ian is 100% male and Ally a fully sensual woman is apparent in their personas, early on, and is evident in their beautiful physical love described later in the story. It is apparent that when Ally is 65 and Ian is 67, he'll love her as much in her flannel pajamas as he ever did when she probably wouldn't wear flannel. This book warmed my heart and I laughed and shed tears as the story unfolded. If you are a hopeless romantic and believe that true love can conquer all, this book is a must read for you. Clear your schedule and do not plan to put it down until you'e read it all the way through. "What thereforth God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."
This book is about Tragedy, Loss, Heartbreak, Survival, Finding Yourself,Trust and Love. This is such a great book, I couldn't put it down.

Ally's life has been shattered after a very heartbreaking tragedy leaves her empty, alone and broken. She has closed herself off to the world and trusts no one. The only thing that she wants is to be left alone to grieve. She discovers that she has a new neighbor and is terrified. She is hoping that he isn't the friendly type because the last thing that she need is for some stranger interrupting her life and routine.

Ian is trying to recover from a very heartbreaking loss. He decides that he is going to remove himself from everyone and everything that reminds him of what he has lost. The last thing Ian expects is to find a friendship with the woman next door. Someone who seems to be just as messed up as he is.
The story is okay but the grammar leaves much to be desired. There is the use of mixed tenses within one sentence, and "...where she had started at." The "at" is grammatically incorrect and superfluous.
The section titlted "About the Author" is a grammatical disaster. "She am proud..." I can only assume it was written by Taryn Plendl since it says "You will almost always find a Happy Ever After at the end of my stories. she can't help it, it's an addiction." The "my stories" indicates Plendl wrote it about herself. She also forgot to capitalize the first letter of a sentence even if it is either incorrectly punctuated or a run on sentence. Some of these errors appear to be the result of writing in the first person and then a haphazard attempt was made to change it to third person point of view.
The use of changing from one person's point of view to the other person's point of view to cover the same plot line is awkward at best. It is unnecessary. Readers got it in the first telling.
This is not an author I'll read again.
